Who We Are
Guiding Vision:
Communion with the Creator.
Harmony among the Collective.
Purpose in the Community.
Guiding Practices:
Contemplation because of our deep longing for union with God and others;
Journeying because it is easy for us to get too comfortable and complacent;
Unity because Christ’s Body has often been divided;
Generous hospitality because it has been so powerful in the transformation of God’s people;
Compassion because often our love is so shabby;
Justice because we believe God desires to make all things new;
Relevance and excellence because how we live reflects the gospel;
Meaningful connection with our community because we are to live for others;
Care for creation because life stewardship honors God;
Living irresistible lives because followers of Jesus are distinctive.
Guiding Scriptures:
You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. (Deuteronomy 6:5 & Matthew 22:37)
Love your neighbor as yourself. (Leviticus 19:18 & Matthew 22:39)
They share freely and give generously to those in need. (Psalm 112:9 & 2 Corinthians 9:9)
Let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. (1 John 3:18)
Guiding Dream:
Grace Community Church of the Nazarene longs to be a servant church. The servant church must be a community of hope and grace for the world.
